Viewshare is a free software provided by the Library of Congress. The intended users of Viewshare are individuals managing and creating access to digital collections of cultural heritage materials. A simple platform with very few steps, it may require more technical knowledge of the creator than other platforms, as this free software is fairly lean in explanatory materials. It allows libraries (and others with digital images to share) to upload their information onto the Viewshare platform and in essence, create an online digital library . Viewshare runs on Recollection, an open source web application. Anyone is free to download, add and edit the Recollection application to create their own digital collections.
